This is probably the last thing you want to hear or read in this case because we are literally living in a pandemic. But if you are reading this post right now then it is my first free diagnosis as a sign that you need to resign from your job.

I have had my fair share of being in a corporate world, from being a Telesales Agent to an Office Administrator and some other jobs in between. And I would tell you that nothing beats being in a job that you love and enjoy being at, it makes every other thing easier.

Sent in my first resignation letter on 25th September 2019 and not to be that person but I cried before clicking send. Quitting a job is a bold and emotional moment but I am certain it is a much-needed step in most cases.

Editor’s Pick: https://goldgerry.com/2020/05/06/realistic-ways-on-how-to-become-financially-stable/

Though unsure of my next steps or had a job waiting for me, I sent in that letter and that is exactly why I am here to tell you the signs I felt.

Signs You Need To Resign From Your Job

1. You Are Not Happy

Johnny Carson said “Never continue in a job you don’t enjoy. If you are happy in what you’re doing, you would have inner peace”

I remember working in a job that I did not enjoy and how unsatisfactory that was for me, dark days really. So if you are unhappy at your job, this is a sign you need to resign or at least take a break.

2. You’re Basically There For The Money

I find that there are a number of young people holding onto a job because ‘man must survive’ and it isn’t only applicable to youths in Nigeria but all over the world. It sucks heavily to be dependent on a job solely because of the financial benefits, which is usually peanuts.

3. Work Costs You More Than You Gain

Hanging onto a job for financial benefits is understandable but when it crosses the line of your expenses, then you for sure need to resign.

4. Work Calls/Emails Give You Anxiety

Do you ever get a call from your boss/team member and roll your eyes so hard or maybe think ‘what now?’. Well maybe this happens to most people but yours happen ALL the time? Then yes!! You for sure should’ve resigned last month.

5. The Environment Is Toxic

The energy in your environment affects everything about you and your work. Your environment affects your productivity, your mental health and also plays into how happy you when at work.

If your work environment is hostile, or you feel mistreated, then it is a sign you should resign.

6. You Are No Longer Learning

We are meant to learn, relearn and unlearn a lot of things, most especially when at work. It isn’t just an avenue to sustain your livelihood but also to develop/harness some skills.

However, if you feel like you are haven’t gotten better since you started the job then you need to quit. Your job should be adding to you and not just taking away.

Need more signs on why you should quit, then check out this post by Fast Company https://www.fastcompany.com/90288009/8-signs-you-should-quit-your-job

WHAT OTHER SIGNS DO YOU LOOK OUT FOR BEFORE QUITTING A JOB?

Thank you for reading!

Love,
