Part 4 | Building a Film Production Company as an Indie Filmmaker

Heartbreak! That is what I feel. I walked into April with my heart being absolutely shattered by a collaboration that was already in the works and I honestly would miss it. Today, I feel sad, but moving on because all things work together for good.
I think coming down from the high of March, with the amount of incredible work that was done, it was very disappointing getting into April and saying goodbye to our interim director. So this month, we went on a hunt!
Melon House Production put out their first public social post. How bold of us to launch our social presence by recruiting! So yes, we are on an official pause till we find a director that aligns positively with our creative vision and goal for the story.
We’ve been so fortunate to receive applications from some talented women in the pool and also recommendations and next month, we HOPE to find our person!
A major update that kinda gets lost with the chaos of finding a director is WE RECEIVED OUR FIRST FUNDING!
Beyond grateful for the journey and the people who are opening their pockets to support our business and this first fund is an indicator of so much more about to come.
