Part 6 | Building a Film Production Company as an Indie Filmmaker

Location, Location, Location!

For most part of June, this is all we’ve been up to.

We have locked in on Ibadan as our shooting location.

So here are some fun bits we got up to this month:

Hired a Locations Manager
Started locations hunting
Received payment from patrons
Began working on a shooting schedule

Based on how short this is, it does seem as though not much work was done, but how misleading are a few words? The most work at this stage is being managed by our director and Locations manager, who are both in Nigeria, and I am appreciative of the work they’ve both been putting in.

Going into July, we aim to have a list of potential locations we want to secure and possibly make down payments on. Casting is set to begin this month, and I am pretty excited about that.
