Part 9 | Building a Film Production Company as an Indie Filmmaker

A little shy of a month now before production comes, and honey, the nerves surely are kicking in. I can confidently say that my team and I are 70% ready for set, but instead of just round figures of all we’ve done, how about a little breakdown of what we’ve achieved so far?
What we achieved this month:
- Hired a post-production team
- Hired a music group to produce the original soundtrack
- Hired our lead character
- Found accommodations for our cast and crew
- Held two virtual auditions
- Paid for a few locations and submitted proposals for others
I am exhausted just narrating this, and is it just me, but it kinda keeps getting shorter? But that’s only because I feel mentally fried. I plan on taking a little moment to rest just before production starts so my creative juices won’t run out.
I ask that you pray for me and my team as the journey just became even more intoxicating.
Going into October, I hope to wrap up casting and locations so we can focus on getting some footwork for the movie. Thanks so much for checking in this month.
All my love,
Gold.
