15 May Top 10 Bars & Restaurants To Visit In Accra
Having visited Accra twice in a panoramic, I guess it’s safe to say that it is my second home. My top ten bars and restaurants to visit in Accra are spots I think serve fun, relaxation and good food at great prices…cause what else are we going outside for?

TOP 10 BARS & RESTAURANTS TO VISIT IN ACCRA
RESTAURANTS
Sandbox
I had heard so much about this spot and I couldn’t go back to Lagos without visiting and it for sure met its expectation. Sandbox is located at the heart of Accra, Labadi, and it is equally a bar and a restaurant.
It is located by the beach with an indoor pool. There are different levels and types of seating areas, which all look great with the lighting. Ordering off the food menu starts with at least 5 items and I had requested the shrimps, fried plantain, chips, honey glazed chicken pops and pork. My order inclusive of drinks summed up to 200ghc. Cocktails cost between 40-60ghc.
I highly recommend this place, especially at night.
N/B: They open between Wednesday-Sunday

BONDAI
This was the second high-end restaurant I visited during my visit and I remember choosing to go because it looked great in pictures. I had a beef burger with chips, rice and chicken stroganoff.
The burger is the worst I’ve ever had, so do not buy that. However, the stroganoff is the second best I have had but it was a lot milkier than I usually like. Remember I said it is high end? So go as a group or hold your coins haha.
I got to say, the food quantity isn’t so small for its price so maybe order a few plates and share with friends, cause I assure you, it’ll go round.

Pot Belly Shark
Pot Belly Shark was the first place I ate at during my last visit and boy do I still crave their hot dog. I went here cause I was told that they sell the meanest hot dogs in Ghana, and I was like let’s goooo.
What blows my mind to date is how little was spent and how filling I was at the end of the evening. I had ordered the jumbo hot dog that comes with yam fries and soda while my date had jollof rice, coleslaw and some pork. These all summed up to N6,000, which is approximate 65ghc.
My jaw still drops at the thought of it, so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
The outdoor setting is beautiful and great for pictures too.

Concrete Jungle
I love a restaurant with a theme and Concrete Jungle gives you just that. I requested a signature drink that came in a custom native cup that speaks to the name ‘jungle’.
Ordered for the 150ghc platter that concise of honey truffled glazed pork, roasted potatoes cubes, bbq chicken wings, calamari, kelewele(plantain) and meatballs.
Their cocktails are quite expensive(60ghc ) but I see why cause the glass is quite large.

Starbites
When I think about Starbites, I remember the minced stir-fried rice and my mouth gets watery. I love a restaurant that takes their time to cook their meals cause it shows in delivery and how it tastes, and Starbites definitely delivers.
To me, Starbites is more of a bistro, so if you’re having a casual date, this is perfect. You should also try their samosa and spring rolls.

Bistro22
I’m just going to start off by saying that they sell the best stroganoff to me. Their menu starts from 65ghc and the portions aren’t large if you’re a big eater, but I think it’s right.
I had a mocktail and my total was almost 300ghc. It is a great setting to chill and discuss as the music isn’t loud.

Thai House
Are you in search of a family-friendly restaurant? Then Thai House is your spot. Their Basil fried rice with pineapples is my favourite. Located at East Legon.

BARS
Bloombar
Probably the most talked-about bar in Accra and I don’t see why as it’s so basic to me, but I guess exclusivity has a way of forming great opinions.
Opening days are between Wednesday to Sunday, it is an outdoor bar with a lot of Nigerian music on play. There’s also a VIP area but it’s almost pointless to me as it seems like all the fun is in the other area of the bar.
I had shots that weren’t too harsh and enjoyed the yam fries as well.

Alley Bar
Quite crampy for the number of guests they carry.
However, if you want to turn up or want to make some friends, this is a great place to start. Their pork is the top two best that I’ve ever had as well.
I also had a beer with sprite here, and I think that their prices are really fair.

Republic Bar & Grill
For a bar, I remember going here and not really drinking much. Republic is a street bar (I mean it’s literally on the street), and I really loved the lights- it is red. It seems to be a go-to spot for a lot of Ghanaians, so you should definitely visit.
