Five Girls, One Door

There’s a girl that lives inside me. 

Maybe she’s more than one, maybe she’s five but all I know is she represents my moods. And for when I’m mad, she goes into this little door and locks herself in. She’s not sure when she would be able to come out or even how she just finds that little darkroom to be her place for the time being.

In it, she fumes

In it, she screams and cries

In it, she sings

In it, there’s her quiet that lasts

I’m tired of it, but nights like this, that is where I feel like I belong the most. I would love for you to hug me and tell me it’s okay. I would love to hear you say that you love and understand me now more than ever because I think these words would bring her back to life.

But maybe you’re not meant to do that

Maybe she’s meant to be locked away

Who knows?

Cause what’s a girl without her secret door?

What Does Feminism Mean To You?

To me, feminism is the equal representation of women in society. It is the acknowledgement that women are just as influential and powerful as their male counterparts and allowing us the same right to sit at these tables. Feminism is a choice and can be represented in multiple ways, and for me, it is my only choice. The ability to choose whatever I want for me and live boldly in/with it.

Hey!! I have had a really long 48hrs but it’s your birthday and I just want to tell you I love you.

I love you for knowing how to enjoy yourself the best way you can. Thank you so much for coming into my life and for making the last two years a great one.

You’ve had such a crazy year but held your head all through and I admire you for that. I am praying that all of your heart desires are granted and your dreams begin to come to life.

When Love Happens

I wanna forgive you and I want to do so because I love you. Every day I redefine what life means to means and today, it means forgiveness. Love is knowing that what you did/do aren’t out of maliciousness, love is acknowledging that and accepting that about you, about us and even myself.

My reasons for loving you are selfish.

I love you because you’re the best thing that has happened to me. I love you because I can’t see my life without you in it and in the moments I do, I lose my breath that it hurts.

I love the attention you give to me and everything that concerns me

I love that you learn and continuously open your heart to know me as a person and even more as your lover

I love your desire for me, your passion and dedication to make everything about us work smoothly
